Hello, Rock Stars!  Wow. It has been a minute.  Okay, maybe more than a minute.

When I first started SuperParentMom.com about 13 or 14 years ago, life looked very different around our house. I was a stay-at-home mom, the kids were actually kids, and our days were filled with school schedules, activities, homework, meals, church, parenting decisions, and all the other beautiful chaos that comes with raising a family.

And then I blinked.  Somehow, those kids grew up.  And now, after spending 25 years as a stay-at-home mom, I’m beginning a brand-new chapter of my own.

The Kids Aren’t Exactly Kids Anymore

Caitlyn, my stepdaughter, is now 28 years old, married, and living just down the street. Having an adult child nearby is one of those wonderful full-circle moments of parenting. You spend years teaching them to become independent—and then you’re secretly thrilled when they choose not to move too far away!

Zachary is working full-time at a church and studying to become a youth pastor. Watching your child discover his own calling and begin building a life around his faith is pretty incredible.

And our youngest?  He’s a senior in high school.  Yes. A senior.  He’s focused on animation and preparing to figure out what comes after graduation. So while I’ve graduated from diapers, elementary-school projects, and most of the daily parenting adventures I wrote about years ago, we’re not quite empty nesters yet.

But I can certainly see it from here.

Mom Got a Job!

Here’s another plot twist I didn’t necessarily see coming.  After 25 years as a stay-at-home mom, I’ve taken a part-time job at a doggie daycare.  Three days a week, from 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., I trade my house full of children for a building full of four-legged ones.

Apparently, after spending decades taking care of little creatures who need to be fed, cleaned up after, supervised, loved, and occasionally told to stop doing something ridiculous, I was extremely qualified.  The transition has been fun, different, and—after so many years centered around our family—good for me.  It’s another reminder that moms get new chapters, too.

And Technology Man Is Still Technology Man

For those of you who remember the old Super Parent Mom days, yes, Technology Man is still in the website business.  Of course, technology has changed just a tiny bit since I started this blog.  Okay… a LOT.

Now he’s working on transitioning his website business into this new world of artificial intelligence.  Thirteen years ago, I was probably worried about how much time the kids were spending on their devices.  Today, AI can write computer code, create pictures, answer questions, help run businesses, and probably remind me what I walked into the kitchen for.

Parenting in 2026 is definitely different.  And that’s one of the reasons I want to start writing again.

Why Bring Super Parent Mom Back Now?

Because here’s what I’ve discovered:  Parenting doesn’t really end. It just changes.  I’ve now had the privilege of watching children move through childhood, teenage years, young adulthood, careers, marriage, faith, dreams, mistakes, victories, and everything in between.

There are things I believed strongly when my children were little that I believe even more strongly today.  There are probably a few things I’d do differently.  There are lessons I couldn’t possibly have understood until I had the benefit of looking backward.  And there are entirely new challenges facing parents today that barely existed when I started SuperParentMom.com.

Social media.  Smartphones.  Artificial intelligence.  A rapidly changing culture.  Different pressures at school.  Different pressures at home.  Yet underneath all of that, I believe the most important parts of parenting haven’t changed very much.  Our children still need our love.  They still need boundaries.  They still need encouragement.  They still need examples worth following.

They need room to fail, learn, grow, and eventually become the adults God created them to be.  And sometimes, parents need encouragement too.

So, Rock Stars… I’m Back.

I’m ready to write again.  I’m ready to share some of what I’ve learned during these 25 years of being a stay-at-home mom—and what I’m still learning now that our family has entered a completely different season.

We’ll talk about raising children.  We’ll talk about teenagers.  We’ll talk about faith.  We’ll talk about education.  We’ll talk about blended families.  We’ll talk about letting go.  We’ll talk about this crazy new technology-filled world our kids are growing up in.  And I’m sure we’ll laugh about plenty of things along the way.

Most importantly, I want SuperParentMom.com to once again be a place where parents can be encouraged, challenged, and reminded just how important the work they’re doing really is.  Because whether you’re holding a newborn, teaching a 7-year-old, arguing with a teenager about a cell phone, sending one off to college, or watching your grown child get married…  you’re helping shape a future leader.

That’s a pretty amazing job.  So let’s catch up.  I’ve missed you, Rock Stars.  Super Parent Mom is back. ❤️
